Welcome

Dear Colleagues,

The 31st International PV Science and Engineering Conference (PVSEC-31) will be held from 12 to 17 December 2021 in Sydney Australia. This is only the second time that this important conference is hosted in Australia after the PVSEC-4 meeting chaired by Prof Martin Green in 1989. On behalf of the organising committee, I warmly invite you to attend this conference, which will be the largest and most comprehensive PV conference in the Asia Pacific region in 2021.

PVSEC-31 will provide an excellent platform for the world’s photovoltaic scientists and engineers to showcase their best and most innovative development in solar photovoltaic technologies. The conference will cover a wide range of topics ranging from fundamentals, new and emerging photovoltaic concepts, industrial solar cells, to the challenges involving integrating an increasing share of photovoltaic electricity in the energy mix.

December is one of the best times in the year to visit Sydney with average temperatures in the mid-twenties. The conference is scheduled deliberately to make it easy to combine with a subsequent summer end of (calendar) year vacation to explore the various treasures which Australia has on offer!

We look forward to welcoming you to Sydney in December 2021 to share and learn about the latest developments in photovoltaics while at the same time enjoying the Australian summer!

Best regards,

Prof Bram Hoex
Chair of the PVSEC-31
